Tuition Fees and Remissions

Graduate Fees and Remissions

Click here for the current tuition & fees for graduate students.

For students with employment of 25% or more, much of the tuition and fees are automatically paid for in remissions as a benefit of being either a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR), Teaching Assistant (TA) or Associate Instructor (AI).

Click here for a complete accounting of what the student will pay after fee remission (see "2021-22 Fee Remissions").

Please note that international or non-CA resident students must also pay Non-Resident Supplemental Tuition, until they advance to PhD Candidacy or become California residents.  If employed as a TA/AI, reduced rate NRST applied for three years after advancing to Ph.D. candidacy, after which time PhD students are eligible to apply for up to two additional years of NRST waiver.

All registered UC Davis Students are automatically enrolled in the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP) in order to meet the UC Regents mandate that all UC students have health insurance coverage as a non-academic condition of enrollment. However, if you are already covered by a health insurance plan, and do not wish to be enrolled in UC SHIP, you can waive enrollment by submitting a waiver application prior to the start of each new academic year. Waiver applications need to be submitted each academic year so that we have the most up to date information regarding your insurance coverage.
